He had five catches for 52 receiving yards and two touchdowns
in Sunday's victory over Detroit. The Arizona offense doesn't
look at lot at the tight end, but he Pope did catch 3 passes
& 1 TD the week before the Cardinal's bye. It is possible
that he could get more looks and become a legitimate fantasy
tight end down the road.
Donald Lee - Packers - Bargain
Another breakout tight end in 2007 giving the position
plenty of depth. Lee caught 6 touchdowns placing him 6th
overall for tight ends. With the retirement of Brett Farve
there are questions in the Packer passing game until Aaron
ROdgers can answer them all the receivers loose some shine
from their rankings.
Vernon Davis - San Francisco - Bargain
Davis may be the most talented tight end in football, but
not talented enough to run, block and throw the ball to
himself. Davis could explode in 2008 and launch himself
into the top three of fantasy tight ends, but it all depends
on two things that have yet to happen, he must remain healthy
and the 49er offense must play well. If Alex Smith becomes
a consistent, solid NFL quarterback, Davis will have a big
fantasy season, if not, he likely won't, but should still
be solid.
